What is Scout?

Scout is a totally new way to bid and buy items from your favourite retailers, look for the Scout button on the product page when you are searching for items, this means you can Scout them, simply click the ‘Scout‘ button (usually under the buy it now button) and enter the offer that you would like to make on the product, it’s as simple as that!

How does Scout work?

You make a bid on the items that you love, we gather them all together and notify the winners if they have been successful, we send you a voucher to buy the item from your chosen supplier at the price you offered, just enter the discount code at the checkout like normal.

How do I use Scout?

Look out for the Scout  button on items on your favourite on line stores (you will need to have a registered email address with them as we use this to send you your voucher), this means you can Scout the item. If you would like to make an offer on the item, first choose the colour and size for example then go as is you are going to buy it but instead click the ‘Scout this’ button, a pop up will open and your email will be automatically entered, just make an offer that you would like to pay and click enter and we do the rest!

How do I have a better chance of winning?

Scout allocates stock to the highest bidders the quickest so the best way to win and faster is to offer what you think is your highest bid, this will mean that you get the stock before others as often there is a limited amount.

Once you have made a bid you can offer more to increase your chances of winning, just go back to the product page again and make another bid, we will automatically delete your lower offer.

If you make a lower offer though we will always maintain your highest bid.

Is Scout an auction?

Kind of yes, we allocate the stock that we have been given by the retailer to the highest bids every night in order of amount so the more you bid the better chance you have of winning. We also allocate the highest bids first but keep the lower bids for the next day automatically so you might still have a chance to win.

How long do I have to use my voucher?

48 Hours from the time it is issued.

Do I have to use my voucher?

We can’t make you, but we really hope that when you win you will do so as we have awarded the deal to you meaning others will have missed out.

Don’t forget If you don’t use the vouchers you have won you may have less chance of winning next time.

How long does it take to get notified if I have won?

The more you bid the faster you will win, we allocate the highest bidders first then every day after that we allocate winners who have offered lower amounts gradually until the stock is all gone. The highest bidders will always have a better chance of winning every time we allocate stock. A typical pro.

If you really would like an item, offer the best price you can and you will win sooner and get the best chance of the stock we have.

Am I buying from Scout or the retailer?

You are buying from the retailers you already love and trust, Scout is just helping you to do the deal with them but you make the purchase from them, so your consumer rights are not affected.

What about returns?

We hope that you love the item that you win through Scout but if there is an issue and you have to return the item please go through the usual process with your chosen supplier, at this time Scout doesn’t manage the returns process and your contract is with the retailer you purchased from so the usual terms and conditions will still apply.

How can I tell if I can Scout an item?

Look out for the little Scout button (show button here **) on the product image when you search for items, this lets you know you can Scout this item if you click through to the detailed product page.

What rules does Scout have?

Its always free ! Scout never charges consumers to use the service, it is free to use-always!

We only allow certain bids, usually this is down to 50 % off the full price but this is set by the retailer, we want to help genuine buyers get a great deal but not encourage lots of low bids

The voucher we send you can only be redeemed once and at the retailer you made the offer to, it can’t be used by anyone else as it is keyed to your registered email address for that retailer. This to protect you and the retailer and to make sure that we don’t get a lot of automated bids meaning you have a better chance of winning.

Scout only uses your email address to communicate with you to send you notification of your bids and if you have won, we wont spam you with lots of other stuff!

You can place a higher bid at any time and your previous bid will be cancelled, if you bid less then your highest bid will still stand until either you win or the promotion ends.

The voucher we send is for the specific product that you bid on so the actual size and colour you selected for example, it can’t be used on anything else as different sizes and colours may be sold at different prices for example.
